    1. SAN ---> Called Storage Area Network
      NAS ---> Called Network Attached Storage.

      NAS is basically a storage connected over the LAN network. There is no dedicated network build for the NAS.

      In SAN the storage is connected via a dedicated network over the fiber channel. Due to this dedicated network the data flow speed is high and more secure. Fiber Channel itself provide the high speed data travel rate.

  3. SAN is basically Block level storage,you can perform block level operations as per your need.
    NAS is basically File level storage,just you can share a storage by mapping to a native operating system.
    SAN supports iSCSI,FC,FCoE, protocols.
    NAS supports nfs (Linux),CIFS/SMB(WIndows) protocols.

    NAS is file level storage and mainly used for Unstructured data user files
